As this is an Infrared remote, the distance for the remote is 5 to 8 meters, and the receiver/controller should be in line of sight of the remote.

About the 6 DIY keys (mix and save 6 defined colours):
1. press custom key (for example "DIY 1" button) to enter the modes,
2. press the up/down arrow to mix/adjust the colour (increse/decrese the red/blue/green colour freely)
3. press the custom key (DIY 1 button) once again to save your current defined colour.
(To escape the DIY function, press any other key. The 6 DIY keys are all independent, have no effect each other. )
